Brook Guitars

Brook Guitars have been making acoustic guitars by hand in their workshop on the edge of Dartmoor for over 25 years. Known for their attention to detail and choice of beautiful tonewoods, they create instruments as individual as the people who play them. Their guitars are sold worldwide, with each one built to order by Simon, Andy and Jack.

I visited Brook Guitars to produce a short documentary film and a series of editorial photographs of the team at work. Filmed and photographed in their Devon workshop, the project follows the process of making an acoustic guitar, from selecting the tonewoods to shaping, assembling and finishing each instrument by hand. The resulting photography and film offer a glimpse into the skills, tools and attention to detail behind these handmade instruments.
